Castings are sourced in India from established foundries recognised by leading valve manufacturers worldwide. AIL has an elaborate program for selection, evaluation, inspection and auditing of foundries.

What is the stem packing material normally provided?
Answer:
Valves are provided with a set of Die moulded Expanded graphite packing with Braided end rings

Is AIL approved by major oil companies of the world?
Answer:
Recognition of AIL quality and performance has given us a place among the select few manufacturers in the world, who have been approved by all major oil companies in the world including ExxonMobil, Shell, Texaco, Arco, Sunoco , Saudi-Aramco, ADNOC, Elf, Sasol, Union Carbide etc.

How does AIL service the contingency requirements of these valves?
Answer:
AIL maintain adequate back up inventory of entire range of standard valves for ex-stock delivery. At present we are maintaining large inventory of valves in our factories. Distributors in USA, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, Australia and The Far East also maintain inventories of standard valves in respective regions.

Does AIL have ISO certification for all their manufacturing plants ?
Answer:
AIL has three plants located strategically within 60 Kms from the main plant at Manapakkam. All plants, including the ones at Maraimalai Nagar and Kancheepuram have ISO 9001 certification by BVQI.

Are all valves tested before they are shipped from the factory ?
Answer:
Yes. Each and every valve undergoes rigorous testing that meets or exceeds API 598/BS Standard.

5. Do AIL supply test certificate (TC) and Material Test Reports (MTR)for all valves ?
Answer:
All Cast steel Gate, Globe and Check valves (=>2") identified by unique Sl. No are provided with TC and MTR. This can be also down loaded from valv-e-biz, if the Sl. No or Delivery ref No. or customer PO is known.

6. To which standards do the valves comply?
Answer:
AIL Gate valves comply to API 600 & BS1414. Globe valves comply to BS1873 and Check valves to BS 1868 with shell wall thickness of API 600.

8. What is the material of construction of bolting?
Answer:
The bonnet bolting is of ASTM A193 Gr. B7 / ASTM A194 Gr. 2H for WCB valves. For other materials, please call AIL Sales Office.
